The Rockies Award Show highlights the best creative advertising work completed during the previous year. It is the largest creative ad show in the State of Idaho and is an official event of the Idaho Advertising Federation. Any individual, student, agency, and/or business with a clever tagline or well-executed advertisement may enter the competition.
The submission window for the 2019 Rockies opened on Monday, January 7th, 2019.
The early-bird entry deadline was Friday, February 8th, 2019.
The late deadline was Friday, February 15th, 2019.
This year, Judging weekend took place on March 1st and 2nd in downtown Boise, Idaho.
The Annual Rockies Award show will be Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at the Jackson Jet Center. Ticket and table purchase info available here!

Award Letters were sent via email on March 13th, 2019. Winners will be publicly announced at the April 27th Award Ceremony. Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and engaged more in their local Advertising Federations because of this competition. Special shout out to our incredible judges who flew in from Nashville, TN, Richmond, VA, and Vancouver, Canada, — respectively.

MEET the 2019 Rockies Judges!
Tom Cocke, The Buntin Group
After graduating from Washington & Lee University, Tom moved to Atlanta to attend The Portfolio Center. He began his career at BBDO Atlanta working on Delta Air Lines while continuing on as an instructor at The Portfolio Center. Tom moved to Nashville for his first tour at Buntin in the 90s working on Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Next came a 5-year stint at Wray Ward in Charlotte where he worked on Continental/General Tire. He returned to The Buntin Group in 2001 and has contributed to virtually every Buntin client over the last seventeen years.
Tom’s work has been recognized by The One Show, Communication Arts, New York Festivals, Clio, OBIES, EMMYs, ADDYs, London International, Jay Chiat Awards and even the International Bluegrass Music Association. He has been awarded Nashville Copywriter of the Year three times. He’s judged both the Effie Awards and the national American Advertising Awards. Currently, he gets his kicks working on a short film about Route 66 and running a small vintage antique business @madcenturyvintage.
Leila Singleton is a hands-on art director in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her interest in advertising was piqued at age 11, upon noting that all the colors in a pain med’s TV spot matched its logo (ooh, subliminal!). That interest and a love of drawing led to a BFA in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art & Design.
Leila started as an ad agency art director in Colorado, moved on to build a CVB’s in-house design division in San Francisco, and then went solo, working with two departments at the University of California, Berkeley; San Francisco’s iconic Stern Grove Festival Association; and Prosper.com.
Leila’s work appears in over 20 books and magazines, and has been exhibited in locations such as Times Square, New York City, and Kharkov, Ukraine. Organizations that have recognized her work include Creative Quarterly, GD USA Magazine, and Graphis; the latter recently honored her with a Silver Award in their Advertising Annual 2019.
Leila judged the Society of Typographic Aficionados’ Catalyst Award in 2017 and the ONE Condoms Design Contest in 2016. She’s excited to check out the talent in Idaho’s advertising industry.

VZ is a passionate writer and leader with a plethora of international and stateside experience who loves generating big ideas and is prolifically creative in all mediums.
VZ has lived in 17 US States, 5 Countries, and has ideated, directed, and produced digital, film, guerilla, print, radio and TV content for just about everyone on Earth except for a few of the lost tribal groups in West Papua, New Guinea.
VZ has also had the opportunity to work with some of the most creative Ad Agencies and Brands on Earth. Speaking of which, while VZ was writing on Nike in South Africa, he had the pleasure of following in his father’s FBI Hostage Negotiator footsteps, when he talked an Art Director into giving up a .38 he pulled on an Intern at an Agency party. VZ’z not afraid of danger though, because not only has he survived hiring a guide on the Zimbabwean black market to go whitewater rafting on the Zambezi River through 15 foot waves during high water season in Zambia, he’s also made it through being the late, great Michael Jackson’s bodyguard for a day at Disney World. VZ’z work has been celebrated in award shows spanning the globe, and his diverse portfolio of work includes co-writing and producing the award-winning documentary film “Reinforcements”.
