Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Web Developer to join our team.  The ideal candidate for this position is a web developer with a true understanding and mastery of front-end web development and responsive design with a mobile-first approach. Being detail-oriented, process-friendly, and having the ability to work on multiple projects seamlessly are essential.

You will be working with the rest of the Valitics team, and occasionally working directly with clients to build solutions that help further their business goals.

We need a web developer who is familiar with tackling big projects and challenges with a discipline to strive for excellence and a firm belief that thoughtful web development is more than just writing lines of code.

Preliminary Qualifications:       

  • 3 – 5 years of applicable experience in web and user interface development

  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week with some occasional overtime, and perform occasional on-call duties

  • BS in Computer Sciences (or other related field) strongly preferred, or equivalent experience     

Desired Experience:

We use many different tools and techniques to help accomplish the best work possible on our projects, so it is important that you have:

  • Expert-level experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, UI/UX concepts and front-end frameworks

  • Familiarity and experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue and Angular

  • Ability to produce code that is compliant in all major browsers and meets internal design, coding and documentation standards

  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) and Sketch

  • Experience building public-facing, mobile-first, responsive websites

  • Experience with content management systems

  • Strong experience with building performing and accessible websites and applications

  • Demonstrable work examples

Primary job responsibilities:

  • Give development advice and concerns on new projects during discovery and planning phases

  • Make recommendations on websites that we provide ongoing support for

  • Develop new client websites and update existing website

  • Develop, test, and deploy data-driven web applications

  • Debug websites and web applications in all major browsers and devices

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and document user-reported issues

  • Give expert development advice on projects and provide recommendations for improving existing websites

Secondary responsibilities:

  • Occasionally attend and participate in client meetings

  • Code and test HTML responsive emails that display correctly in common email clients

  • Use content management systems in order to edit/create pages and assist other team members with adding/editing content in the CMS

  • Other responsibilities as necessary
